Dr. Prakash R. Somani
Dr. Prakash did his M. Sc. (Physics) from Physics Department, Pune University (1996) and Ph. D. (March 2002) from National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), India in the area of Conducting Polymers under the guidance of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. He was a faculty at Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET, Pune, India) from 1998 to 2002; Post-Doctorate Researcher at Institute for Study of Nanostructured Materials (ISMN) Bologna, Italy under the United Nations ICTP Fellowship (worked with Prof. G. Ruani and Prof. C. Taliani); Faculty at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), JP University, Noida, India and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS Pilani), Pilani, Rajasthan, India; Researcher at Chubu University, Japan on JSPS Fellowship (with Prof. M. Umeno). He taught subjects like electromagnetism, nanotechnology, materials science etc. to engineering and science students. He is an author of more than 45 research papers in Refereed International Scientific Journals and has two Indian patents. His work is well cited (including by Nobel Laurates). Many of his research papers are most downloaded and appreciated articles. He has attended many National & International Scientific Conferences/Workshops and presented his research work. He is a regular referee of more than seven International Scientific Journals and a member of the “International Editorial Advisory Board” for the journal “Sensors and Transducers Journal” published by International Frequency Sensor Association (IFSA). His biography has been published in “Marquis Who’s Who in the World 20th edition, 2002, USA; Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, 7th edition 2003, USA and Marquis Who’s Who in Asia, 1st edition, 2007, USA”.
His current research interests include Carbon Nanotube – Nanoelectronics, nanoscience and nanotechnology, energy conversion and storage devices, organic and organic-inorganic hybrid electronics, advanced materials and devices and Environment related issues. He is the Founder and Research Director of Applied Science Innovations Pvt. Ltd., India (http://www.applied-science-innovations.com) and Founder, Editor and Journal Co-coordinator of “Carbon – Science and Technology” E-Journal published by Applied Science Innovations, India.

Dr. (Mrs.) Savita P. Somani
Mrs. Savita Somani did her M. Sc. (Organic Chemistry) from Chemistry Department Pune University, India in 1998 with distinction and Ph. D. in Engineering from Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, Chubu University, Japan in March 2009. She worked at National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), India as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the areas of Polymeric Membranes for Water Purification, Gas Separation and Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells. She is the recipient of prestigious Indian Government Open Merit Scholarship (1993 to 1996); Senior Research Fellowship (SRF, CSIR, Govt. of India, from June 2003 to May 2005) and Monbusho Fellowship (Japanese Government Fellowship, from March 2007 – March 2009). She has published more than 16 research articles in peer-reviewed International Journals and co-authored 2 book chapters. She has also presented her research results in many national and international conferences. Currently, she is working in the areas of Carbon Nanomaterials and their applications in organic solar cells, field electron emission and polymer electrolyte membrane fuel Cell. She is also a co-founder of Applied Science Innovations Pvt. Ltd., India.
Prafulla R. Somani
Prafulla did his M. Sc. (Polymer Science, 2004) from Pune University. He did his M. Sc. Research project work on “Preparation of Ultra-filtration membranes for Fuel Cells” at National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, India. He is working at ASIPL as a Researcher and Assistant Director.
